From the last gig on this South Africa, Sun
City dates.
Another 2cd with the full set of the gig on Oct.
19th., from the South Africa 'The Works' tour in 1984.
This time
released with paper sleeve. I'm not sure of fold-out cover, or
single card sleeve.
A bit sad the producer has used a '86 'Magic
Tour' photos on the front & back cover. Would have been more
professional, if correct time of photos has been used.
So far, this is the
only show from this Sun City gigs which has find the way out on the
marked. I have never come across any film/ video from those gigs.
There has been some doubt in Queen fan circles, how many concerts
Queen actually played in Sun City in 1984.
The plan was 9
concerts, but as far as I know at least one show was canceled due to
Freddie's throat problems. But, I have so far not been confirmed
100% how many concert were played. Something uncertainties regarding
exact dates, has also been mentioned. Depend which time the gig
started. If after 24:00, sometimes this gig then are listed the day
after, which actually is true, even the previously day is listed as
the gig date.
'God Save The
Queen' outtroduction on tape, at the end is missing.
This
recording sound to me, as it's a recording from the mixing desk,
that mean the sound which goes to the speakers. There are no
separate microphone which catch the audience sounds, so on this
recording, the audience can't be heard so clear.
It's the stage
microphones that capture the audience sound, and they do not work so
well for that purpose. |
