Recorded from the Montreal performance on July 21, 1982, from the controversial "Hot Space" tour. This performance was the most energetic period for the live band! Recorded from the Montreal performance on July 21, 1982, from the Hot Space Tour! When it comes to Queen in Japan, it is easy to think that the 70s were Queen's heyday because their popularity in Japan led them in the early days of their career and their lyrical songs such as "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Killer Queen" suited Japanese tastes, but it should be considered that Queen's popularity peaked worldwide in 1980, when "Another One Bites The Dust," which was also popular on the black charts as disco music, became a No. 1 hit in the United States. Following that success, they released "The Game Tour," their biggest tour to date, and the instrumental-focused soundtrack "Flash Gordon" (1980), followed by "Hot Space" (1982). Featuring brass and synth bass, this album pursued the Queen-style dance music route, but it was met with mixed reviews from fans and sales were poor. However, the live performances from that period were the best. These songs were also replaced with band arrangements, and Brian's guitar, which had a low presence in the recordings, was played lively, giving off a completely different charm from the studio recordings. In particular, the North American leg in the middle of this tour was when their popularity in North America was at its peak, and this "Hot Space Tour" is highly regarded among fans. The selection of six songs each from "The Game" and "Hot Space" is unique to this period. Speaking of Montreal, the previous year's 1981 performance was officially released, and this dance route may have been a good fit for Canadian fans. This live performance gives you a sense of the band's momentum. |
