Live at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan 12th February 1981 TRULY PERFECT SOUND (from Original Masters)

★ Completely first appearance, high quality sound master!!

The Japan tour of "THE GAME Tour", which has become a unique form of "5 consecutive performances only at Nippon Budokan". A superb recording that conveys the scene has been newly excavated. It has been decided to release it as a permanent preservation press 2CD!

What is engraved in this work is the best audience recording of the first day of the 5 consecutive performances, "February 12, 1981: Nippon Budokan". Several recordings are known on this day, including our "BATTLE THEME (Trial-177)", but this work is different from any of them. It is the first public recording that was digitized directly from the newly excavated original master cassette.

Speaking of "THE GAME Tour", both the album and single were No. 1 in the United States at the height of their popularity. Our shop has also archived as many masterpieces as possible from the monumental "Budokan x 5 times" visit to Japan. It's a good opportunity, so let's organize the collection in light of the schedule of the visit to Japan.

February 12: Nippon Budokan ←★ This work ★
February 13 "DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1981 2ND NIGHT"
-2 days off-
February 16 "BUDOKAN 1981 3RD NIGHT"
February 17 "DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1981 4TH NIGHT"
February 18 "BUDOKAN 1981 FINAL NIGHT: DEFINITIVE MASTER" and others
Note: Only masterpieces on each day.

[First-time release of the shocking master]
All five performances above are available as live albums. As mentioned above, the first day was also introduced as "BATTLE THEME (part)", but it is only a CDR release. This work is a different recording with incomparably good sound, and finally the first day has been added to the permanent collection.

In fact, the sound is breathtakingly beautiful, and although it has been digitized directly from a newly excavated 120-minute cassette, it is extremely clear and tight. In the opening scene, there are many high-pitched squeals flying around, so I thought, "It's hard to call it the best recording...", but the turmoil soon began to calm down, and the insanely beautiful performance sound and vocals were revealed. The vividness is exquisite, and the contours are clear and clear down to the smallest details. What's even more noteworthy is the hall sound. Not only is it not cloudy or turbid, but the air is simply delicate and light. The long, long notes are beautifully drawn to the tip, and the beauty of fading into pitch-black silence is indescribable. When you notice this beauty, you'll see that even the turmoil at the beginning is a light vacuum pack of the popularity at its peak.
In fact, since many great recordings have been unearthed from the first day at the Budokan, it is difficult to claim that this is the best, but on the other hand, the other recordings do not overwhelm this work. It is a battle of individuality and preference, and this work is the "most beautiful" light recording that is unmatched in three points: "natural feeling, vividness, and freshness".

[A complete experience of the first day when Freddie's throat is also in top form]

What's more, this is a complete album that contains everything from that day. Since it was recorded on a 120-minute tape, it was replaced with noodles about 60 minutes after the start of the show. This is the part where the drum solo changes to a guitar solo, but this is complemented by "BATTLE THEME", and the entire day is seamlessly recorded in full.

What you can enjoy from such a complete live album is a full show where you will be overwhelmed by Freddie in top form. The set was slightly changed for the 5 days at the Nippon Budokan, so let's organize it here by comparing them.

●A Night at the Opera (4 songs)
・Death on Two Legs/I'm in Love with My Car/Love of My Life/Bohemian Rhapsody
●Dedicated to the World (4 songs + α)
・We Will Rock You (fast)/Get Down Make Love/Sheer Heart Attack/We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions
●The Game (5 songs)
・Play The Game/Save Me/Dragon Attack/Crazy Little Thing Called Love/Another One Bites The Dust
●Other (11 songs)
・Jazz: Let Me Entertain You/Mustapha/Fat Bottomed Girls (★★)
・Flash Gordon: Battle Theme (★)/Flash/The Hero
・Other: Jailhouse Rock (★)/Killer Queen/Now I'm Here/Keep Yourself Alive/Tie Your Mother Down
*Note: The ★ mark indicates a different song each day. The ★★ mark indicates songs that were not performed at the other four shows.

... and so it goes. The basics of the three main songs, "A Night at the Opera", "A Tribute to the World" and "The Game", are the same for all five performances, but some small parts are swapped around. Only the first three performances start with "Jailhouse Rock", and you can also enjoy the rare "Battle Theme". On the other hand, even though it's only for this day, "Fat Bottomed Girls" is hard to say for the captain... but Freddie is great in this song, and shows off his best vocals. Not only this song, but Freddie's performance on the first day is also very good. In fact, in 1981 (as usual), Freddie was in poor health immediately after arriving in Japan and was absent from the preview screening of "Flash Gordon". However, this seems to have been done to be on the safe side, and when it came to the live performance, he gave us a full and powerful singing voice. If you listen closely, you can hear that his voice is good but not too loud, so he may be being cautious, but the more he tries, the more he gets carried away with the voice that comes out freely (by the way, perhaps because he was relieved on the first day, he goes wild on the second day).

I never thought that I would come across such an amazing recording 43 years after the original... This is a new discovery that reminds me of the depth of audience culture. This is a cultural heritage album that allows you to fully experience the start dash of five consecutive Budokan performances with unparalleled beautiful sound. Please enjoy it to the fullest with the press 2CD that will never lose its brilliance.

★The finest audience recording of the "February 12, 1981: Nippon Budokan" performance. This is a first-time public recording that is different from the conventional one, and is a masterpiece that has been digitized directly from the original 120-minute cassette master. It is extremely clear and tight, and the sound is neat and the contours are clear and crisp down to the smallest details. The tape change section is also supplemented with other recordings, allowing you to fully experience the first day of the historic "5 consecutive Nippon Budokan performances." A new masterpiece from Japan that is proud of the world is born.

★The release will come with a numbered sticker.
