Review from Internet page.

“SHEER HEART ATTACK Tour” which made a breakthrough and made a leap toward the whole world. The treasure recording is a new excavation!
What is recorded in this work is “February 15, 1975 Boston performance (late show)”. It is the first appearance audience recording. 1975 is remembered as the “year of opera,” but most of the year was spent on tours related to the previous “SHEER HEART ATTACK.” First, let’s look back at the schedule and confirm the position of the show.

● 1974
・ October 30-November 20: UK (19 performances) ← * Official
“November 8” SHEER HEART ATTACK “released”
・ November 23-December 13: Europe (11 performances)

● 1975
・ February 5-24: North America # 1 (19 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
・ March 5-April 6: North America # 2 (21 performances)
・ April 19-May 1: First visit to Japan (8 performances)

This is the whole picture of “SHEER HEART ATTACK Tour”. The most famous official live album “LIVE AT THE RAINBOW ’74” was just before the release of the album, but after that, he toured Europe and finally entered the US tour and his first visit to Japan in 1975. The Boston performance of this work is the earliest record in 1975. It was the 10th performance of “North America # 1”. Two performances are held a day on this day, with the early show starting at “19:30” and the late show starting at “22:30”. The one recorded in this work is the late show. Speaking of “North America # 1”, the shocking work “NEW YORK 1975 (Wardour-416)” discovered last year is also a new place in my memory. This work is also the day before.

This work recorded at such a show is a vintage audience that reminds us of “NEW YORK 1975” not only in the schedule but also in the sound. “NEW YORK 1975” is one step ahead in the vividness of the details and the clearness with a good view, but this work is superior in terms of the strength of the core and the closeness of the distance. In particular, the closeness of the vocals is wonderful, and Freddie’s singing voice and the two choruses are separated from each other. It’s a vintage recording that’s just as easy to listen to, although it has a slightly different personality.
Moreover, this work is a remastered specification that maximizes the possibilities of such a new excavation master. Not only was the pitch significantly slower in the original net sound, but there was also a part where hiss was conspicuous in the bass / treble range, the left channel was slightly off, and the stereo feeling was out of order. Of course, this work carefully repairs such parts one by one. Of course, since Omoto’s individuality is fully utilized, it is not the type that is touted as “sound board!”, But it has achieved a perfection that can be immersed in a musical work.

And the content of the Boston performance that the whole world knows for the first time is essential. This is the first live performance that each song is heard, and it is the first time to be there. Every word of MC is fresh. Considering its value and sound quality, permanent storage press is suitable, but in fact, there was a big drawback that it could not be realized. That is incomplete recording. I don’t know the exact full set because it’s a day without another recording, but let’s organize it by comparing it with “NEW YORK 1975”, which is probably the same.

QUEEN (3 songs)
・ Son And Daughter / Keep Yourself Alive / Liar
QUEEN II (5 songs)
・ Procession / Ogre Battle / Father To Son / White Queen (As It Began) / The March Of The Black Queen
SHEER HEART ATTACK (7 songs)
・ Now I’m Here / Flick Of The Wrist / In The Lap Of The Gods / Killer Queen / Bring Back That Leroy Brown / Stone Cold Crazy / In The Lap Of The Gods … Revisited (▼)
Others (3 songs)
・ Big Spender (▼) / Modern Times Rock’n’Roll (▼) / Jailhouse Rock (▼)
* Note: The “▼” mark is a song that is presumed to have been missed in this work.

… And it looks like this. I usually mark delicious songs that I can’t listen to for comparison, but this time it’s the opposite. The songs that were not recorded are marked with “▼”. In other words, “In The Lap Of The Gods … Revisited” at the end of the show and the following cover section are missing. Strictly speaking, the opening “Procession” opening and the last “Liar” are also lacking.
It is regrettable that the recording is incomplete even if it is returned. However, it is a live album with plenty of taste of early QUEEN that you can not miss even if you subtract it. Recordings that have not been heard even after 46 years have been unearthed. The live itself is so attractive that it tells the greatness of QUEEN in itself and arouses further inquisitiveness. Such a fresh first experience recording. Please enjoy this work carefully.

★ Audience recording of “February 15, 1975 Boston performance (late show)”. A vintage sound that reminds us of the press masterpiece “NEW YORK 1975” the next day, with the first appearance recording that conveys a show that we could not hear before. This work goes up in terms of the strength of the core and the closeness of the distance. Especially, the closeness of the vocals is wonderful, and Freddie’s singing voice and the two choruses are separated from each other. “In The Lap Of The Gods … Revisited” at the end and the cover section “Big Spender / Modern Times Rock’n’Roll / Jailhouse Rock” are not included, so I missed the press, but it’s just as easy to listen to. It is a masterpiece.
