"June 2, 1977 Liverpool performance" is included in this work. It is the first appearance audience recording. This week, the super-precious board "LIVERPOOL 1974 (Wardour-445)" of "SHEER HEART ATTACK TOUR" will be permanently preserved, but this work is also a new master that was excavated at the same time. The 1974 edition was an upgrade of the old recording, but this is a live album that will be the first appearance.

Before the content of the impact, first of all, the position of the show. Speaking of 1977, it is also a time when the two tours intersect, so let's look back on the schedule here.

1977
“A DAY AT THE RACES TOUR”
・ January 13-March 18: North America # 1 (40 performances)
・ May 8th-June 7th: Europe # 1 (19 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
"October 28," News of the World "released"
“NEWS OF THE WORLD TOUR”
・ November 11th-December 22nd: North America # 2 (26 performances)
1978
・ April 12-May 13: Europe # 2 (20 performances)

This is the overall picture of "A DAY AT THE RACES TOUR" and "NEWS OF THE WORLD TOUR". QUEEN, who released "A Day at the Races" at the end of 1976, started the tour from the beginning of 1977. It was a flow to start the next work "News of the World" after traveling to North America / Europe until early summer. The Liverpool performance of this work was the 16th performance of "Europe # 1" at the end of the concert. Speaking of "Liverpool in 1977", the recording of the "June 3" performance has been known, but this work is not a credit mistake but a separate performance. It was the first day of two consecutive days.

This work recorded at such a show is a vintage audience with excellent master freshness. Roughly speaking, it is a recording with a little distance, but the performance sound that penetrates the center is delicate. Also, I don't know if it has the same taper as "LIVERPOOL 1974", which was also pressed, but the sound tendency is similar and it is ideal for mastering. In this work, we have also applied our own meticulous mastering, but the effect is enormous and the transparency of the atmosphere is dramatically improved. It's crystal clear and clear and doesn't cloud the details.

Another thing that cannot be removed is the enthusiasm of the site. This is already a great excitement. Freddy, who is the key, is also very excited, but the audience side also gets excited without knowing the ceiling, and there is a fuss about singing and screaming. Of course, the songs that are sung softly are listened to silently, and the playing sound and Freddy's singing voice are not drowned out. Nevertheless, it is also a scorching live album in which the heat that seems to burn is blown out from the speakers.

The real sound is drawn with a rare song and a double and delicious full show. Speaking of the symbol of this tour, the pro shot of Earl's Court is famous above all, so let's organize the set while comparing.

・ Queen I (2 songs): Keep Yourself Alive / Liar
・ Queen II (2 songs): Ogre Battle / White Queen (As It Began)
・ Sheer Heart Attack (6 songs): Killer Queen / Bring Back That Leroy Brown / Brighton Rock / Stone Cold Crazy / In The Lap Of The Gods ... Revisited / Now I'm Here
・ A Night at the Opera (6 songs): You're My Best Friend / Death On Two Legs / Sweet Lady (★) / '39 / The Prophet's Song / Bohemian Rhapsody
・ A Day at the Races (6 songs): Tie Your Mother Down / Somebody To Love / Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy / The Millionaire Waltz / You Take My Breath Away / White Man
・ Others: I'm A Man (★) / Jailhouse Rock Medley
* Note: The "★" mark is a song that cannot be heard even on the big standard professional shots on the first day of Earl's Court.

… And it looks like this. "Sweet Lady" is a rare song up to this tour, but it was replaced with "Doing All Right" on the first day of Earl's Court. This work is not the last performance because it is played even on the second day of Earl's Court, but it is the last remaining in the sound source. And another "I'm A Man" is even more valuable. It's a cover of Bo Diddley, but it's a very rare song that was played only about 10 times in "Europe # 1" even in 1977.

And the performance of spinning such a set is in great shape again! Actually, the 2 performances of Glasgow just before this work and the 2nd performance of Liverpool, which is the day after this work, are famous for their famous performances, but this work in between is no less. Freddy's voice grows comfortably, and improvisation is flexible. The difference in pitch and the degree of extension are as desired, and the tension is as if there is no choice but to be happy with the voices that come out as much as you want. What's more, the momentum will shift to the light piano and other members' performances.

The world was surprised at the first appearance It was a venue of enthusiasm that was very exciting both above and below the stage. Rare songs are delicious, but the show itself is more blissful. It is a moving live album that you can witness such a scene with real sound. Even with this much archive progress, there was still the best unknown show. If you think about it, it may be natural, but when you experience it like this, you will realize the greatness of QUEEN. One of such new excavations. Please enjoy it carefully.
