Another bootleg, or more than less a pirate release of the
officially VHS video release from 1985.
This officially video, is
also released on laser disc in Japan, and now also as a part of a
officially 4DVD box in
USA.
I'm not so sure of detail about this cd & dvd release. Might
be from South Africa, but I can't confirm this.
Just about the
half of the show has been released of this 'Rock In Rio' video.
Queen played 2 dates on this festival back in January 85. It was on
the 11th & 18th January. Sometimes listed as 12th & 19th, but as far
as I know, it's the timing when Queen enter the stage after 24:00 on
the evening on 11th & 12th.So therefor you can find different dates
listed.
The sound on the officially released VHS and laser disc,
could have been better balanced.
There has now been
released so much pirate & bootleg release of this concert, so I hope
Queen production will make a proper full gig released production
in not to far future.
A instrumental jam tune called 'Rock In
Rio Blues' (not on the video) is officially available as a B-side on the single
release 'A Winters Tale' from the 1995 release "Made In Haven"
album. This live track has a much better sound mix. |
