This is the first vinyl release of Mike Millard's recording at
Long Beach Arena on December 20th. 1977. Previously out on a handful
CD bootlegs. A nice recording. This vinyl are out in color vinyl. Insert sleeve are in red and green color. A test pressing is also available in black vinyl with white color insert. 3LP vinyl, inlay sheet with embossed logo. Looks like a US bootleg from the seventies, but as far as I know, this is a European product. Version 1; Red/blue/white marbled vinyl limited to 105 copies 50 copies red numbered inlay and 50 copies green numbered inlay. 5 unnumbered green inlay sheets. Version 2: White vinyl limited to 60 copies 30 copies red numbered inlay and 30 copies green numbered inlay. Version 3: Test pressing on black vinyl limited to 28 copies Black and white numbered inlay This one, only sold together with version 1 or 2. |

So here is a review of the recently released Long Beach California Dec 20th 1977 3 Coloured LP by Cream Of The Crop. I have to confess it's rarely been off of the deck since it's arrival.
As the title suggests from the sleeve the recording is from a master tape by Mike Millard so with some basic EQ'ing it is in my humble opinion one of the best releases in the last 5 years.
Now this release is not without fault, the editing of the audio is clumsy in places and one of the holes
in the center of one of the vinyl's was very tight to get on/off the deck but the audio content and the show itself is so utterly fantastic these minor issues are soon forgotten. 3 glorious LP's of what is a stunning performance and I can see this staying on the deck for another week yet.
